primate design is located inside the Magoski Arts Colony, a living and breathing art collective in downtown Fullerton, California. The historic brick building was designed with an unusually complex façade that produces a rhythmic effect along the four narrow bays on Santa Fe Avenue. The building’s distinguished “saw-tooth” roof houses clerestory windows which provides for beautiful northern light.
The structure was built, owned and originally used for commercial laundry by W. A. Cleaver, named Sanitary Laundry in 1927. Mr. Cleaver sold the property in 1938 and it has since been used for a variety of things, including an orange packing house, and a car dealership. Today it is owned by Peter F. Magoski and in 2010 we occupied the space with the movers of the Fullerton art scene.
