An independent design company, primate engages the publishing world, branding initiatives, and curatorial experiences through graphic design under the art direction of brian prince.
We are a team of two freelance professionals pursuing clean, compelling, and functional design for every client. We are collectively committed to solid graphic identity and communication support.
Our process is simple — we surrender to rhythm and embrace intuition. It’s just one reason organizations love partnering with us. We find satisfaction being backstage in your success, because our main concern is your time in the limelight, not ours.
We support numerous organizations directly, but also indirectly along side these great collaborators:
brian prince, a.k.a. primate
b.1976 Los Angeles, California
For over 20 years, Brian Prince has been professionally serving the arts, non-profits, museums, food+beverage, publishing, and ad agencies with award-winning design work. In 2009, he started a seven-year experiment called project art school [PÄS] with his wife Kristy, where four white walls were gradually broken down and community-as-art prevailed — Think Neighborhood. Brian has been a local arts advocate since 2003, and in 2016, he moved the primate design studio into an old hobby shop in Fullerton, California where he shares space with thousands of model kits from the 1990s. His heroes are his two sons because they are the future. Understanding the laws of balance, he draws inspiration from sand dunes, obscure environmental art installations, and downtime in nature.
Jeff Steinwand
