Letterpress wedding invite and logo design

letterpress (lead and wood, and now polymer) has captivated me since discovering the music posters of Hatch Show Print. in school i seized every opportunity to learn, through friends and printmaking courses. when my friends Kong and Kat got engaged, they asked me to design them a logo and the invitations. i was thrilled when they ok’ed letterpress printing as opposed to standard litho.

in order to do custom letterpress printing, we had to have 2 photopolymer plates. i normally order them from elum in san diego because the turnaround time is superb. here are the separations:
