Cystinosis Magazine

80-page Magazine Design Overhaul

The Cystinosis Research Foundation needed a redesign of their semi-annual awareness magazine. A new magazine means a new logo for the masthead, and rethinking the content in an organized, easy-to-navigate manner. After twelve issues I find myself feeling attached to the families when I learn of their story or see their progress, and get excited for a new medical breakthrough.

This project is contracted through Idea Hall, a Marketing/PR agency with a giant heart. Cystinosis is a rare genetic disease that does not get support from major pharmaceutical companies. This is why this magazine is such an important awareness tool. It brings the cystinosis community together—families, researchers, and supporters—making it a champion in the quest for a cure.

“I am going on record as saying this is going to be the best issue we have ever had! Thank you Brian for working so hard to communicate the spirit and energy of our CRF community. Your artistic vision has translated the family, patient and research stories into an inspiring story of an amazing community dedicated to saving their children through the power of funding research and having faith and hope. You have made the stories come alive — it is a piece of art! Thank you!”
